Thank you for visiting my web and your interest in a Puppy.

Our Puppies are raised in our home amongst all the normal activities of life. As a professional dog trainer I often see the effects that poor rearing and lack of socialization has on a dog's life.   Making sure our puppies are exposed to many normal everyday sights and sounds, people, children and raised in a loving way is critically important.  What I do as a breeder affects the entire life of that dog. As soon as they are old enough, the puppies come with me to work where they meet lots of people and dogs.

All puppies are sold with a contract.  I do guarantee each of my puppies as to health and temperament, with pet puppies requiring a mandatory spay/neuter.  The parents have their current Hips , Eyes and Thyroid tests.
Having been in Nursing for 25 years,  I have a huge interest in health issues, natural rearing and feeding.  We are learning more and more new information about rearing puppies, socializing puppies, vaccinations and health concerns of puppies.  As a result,  many past & current practices are being questioned.  As more and more information has become available, I have changed what I do and how I raise my puppies .  As your breeder, I will pass on that information allowing you to make informed decisions for your new puppy.
I will ask that you register your puppy on an open Health Registry called BEACON. Not all breeders are in agreement about doing this,  but I feel that the more health data we collect and make available for us, the breeders, the more likely we are to pick up on health/genetic problems.  We can then deal with them before they become a widespread problem.  It is wonderful that most breeders in this breed do the health tests on the Dam and Sire.  But that is not enough. We need a way to track the data from each of our litters.  As breeders, we all know that healthy parents who clear all the tests do produce offspring with genetic diseases.  We need to track that data.  The Open Registry makes that data available to everyone to use in future breedings, so we are not doubling up on these problems.  It is my hope that more and more breeders will participate in the Open Registry, to help  maintain and if possible,  improve the health of this wonderful breed, through informed breeding practices.
I also have  a vested interest in dog training, specifically positive training methods, which Beardies respond to so well.  I will require you to attend an obedience class. Of course I will be happy to help you find an appropriate trainer.             K9 Klubhouse Dog Training
Picking your Breeder and Breed are huge and difficult tasks -  do your research and ask lots of questions. Then go with the breeder you feel comfortable with and whose philosophy most closely resembles your own.
Taking your puppy home should  be the beginning of your relationship with your breeder, not the end.
